Finally bought a digital camera, so now I can add some photos. May 9 is a big holiday here in Ukraine, commemorating the end of World War II. Below is a stained glass window from the War Memorial Museum. There were several moving exhibits and my cluster's language teacher, now Tamyla, gave us an insightful history. She reminded us that there are hardly any familiies in Ukraine that were not affected in some way, and she hopes the young generations will remember. That night my host mom, Valya, and I went to Red Square to join a wonderful celebration in song and dance. The chestnut trees and the lilac were glorious and we loved the flowers around the square and a beautiful fountain.
